Early in the morning today global Bitcoin and Ethereum news provider reported that the co-founder and core developer of Ethereum (ETH), Jeffrey Wilcke, sent 92,000 ETH ($ 11.5 million) to the U.S. Kraken, cryptocurrency exchange. Which was reported happened on December 25.
Previously, it was reported that Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin might have planned to sell the cryptocurrency worth $ 25 million. But, Jeffrey Wilcke’s tweet shows differently. Wilcke, whose GitHub showed he is Grid Games’ co-founder, said he needed the money to fund his game.
In connection to the tweet from Wilcke, sources claim that an ETH address reporting Jeff Wilcke’s name transferred 90,000 ETH in full to Kraken. An account financed by the Dev Wallet Ethereum Foundation transferred 408,000 ETH to an ox600 address in January 2016. The address indicates constant sales and transfer of funds between January 2016 and the end of this year, yet on Dec. 25 this declines dramatically.
Although the account still has 218,000 ETH ($ 27 million), 90,000 of this has been transferred to an intermediary address and then sent to Kraken in whole. Monitoring the etherscan reveals the ox600 address was doing the contact.
While giving Wilcke 90,000 ETH to Kraken, Vitalik Buterin announced on a podcast that broadcast Dec. 11 that the Ethereum Foundation had earned over $ 100 million from selling ETH at its last all-time high when it sold about $ 1,400 in January 2018.
