The first libertarian nominee in the 2020 U.S. presidential race, Adam Kokesh, has chosen Alastair Caithness as his blockchain policy advisor. The main objective is to work on the development of a sovereign cryptocurrency as known as AmeriCoin.
Caithness also will focus on cryptocurrency development that is focussed on all Federal government assets. Consists of US government’s land, energy, gold, timber and mineral reserves.
To reach the American Dream
Kokesh therefore intends to create a new decentralized monetary system, with AmeriCoin as its backbone. Through AmeriCoin, citizens are expected to receive universal basic income and compensation for governmental tax and policing policies. Institutional injustices like these prevent the people from achieving their own vision of success in American society or American Dream.
Caithness’s professional background is marked by the development of ZiyenCoin’s oil and gas security token, that focuses on blockchain development and the Internet of Things in the oil sector.
Caithness believes that AmeriCoin will change the country’s economic landscape and verify the financial independence of all citizens. He stated:
“AmeriCoin has the potential to restore liberty to all people in the United States, and we are building a dream team of blockchain experts to join me in developing this important project. There is no better way to return power to the American people than by democratizing ownership of the Federal government’s assets through tokenization.”
Crypto defenders in the politics
John Berlau, a senior member of the libertarian think tank, the Institute for Competitive Business, criticized the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approach for regulating cryptocurrencies. Berlau asserts blockchain and cryptocurrency technology is a transformative innovation, a potential that has been challenged by “burdensome regulations.”
He said the government’s stern action against the technology prevented entrepreneurs from experimenting with new approaches and applications.
Andrew Yang also known as cryptocurrency devotee and presidential nominee, eliminated his campaign for president. He also supporting basic universal income and its forward-thinking approach to blockchain technology and cryptocurrency
